Founded in 1899, The Anti-Cruelty Society is Chicago’s oldest, largest, open-admission, unlimited stay humane society. They are open 365 days a year to accept any animal in need and to promote their mission of building a community of caring by helping pets and educating people. Every year they find homes for more than 5,000 animals, spay or neuter more than 12,000 pets in their low-income veterinary clinic, and reach more than 50,000 school children with their humane education programs.
